About Us

Stepping Stone Farms is a non-profit horse rescue and therapeutic riding facility in Franksville that serves the needs of people in the South East Wisconsin area. In our Equine Assisted Therapy programs, people experience physical and emotional healing through riding and interacting with the horses, which can improve his or her self-esteem, relationship skills and quality of life. Stepping Stone Farms has been a shining forerunner in the Southeastern Wisconsin horse community since 2004.

Led by Lia Sader, a well respected local farrier, trainer, and member of the American Riding Instructor Association, the Stepping Stone team has created many horsemanship programs for Wisconsin youths that would otherwise not exist.

Guidance plays a key role in assisting our community in refocusing efforts towards understanding the world around us. Offering that change for self exploration has been a passion made real by Lia who has created programs and activities, which connect  people with animals for the betterment of self image.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster resilience, responsibility and self esteem in at-risk youth and others by allowing participants to experience the healing power of horses.
